Tiilikkajärvi National Park has been doubled in size 1.6.2023. What does it mean to Metsäkartano Youth Centre, then? After the enlargement, the #nationalpark and its #naturalwonders are only a step away from our front door. Metsäkartano is practically in the middle of the national park or at least in its armpit. Such a great opportunity for our #youthwork, #educationaltrips, and #naturevacations!

Tiilikkajärvi National Park is now the second largest national park in southern Finland.

"From our point of view, the expansion of the national park to the Metsäkartano environment is the realisation of long-term hopes," says Jari Korkalainen, Executive Director of the Youth Centre Metsäkartano. "The park safeguards the preservation of valuable nature and provides an opportunity to restore it to its natural state. At the same time, it safeguards the preservation and development of our operating environment and will certainly increase interest in the area and Metsäkartano as well..."
