Go on a guided nature expedition snowshoeing or hiking on forest trails and have a rest by a campfire after a relaxing visit to the sauna. Feel energy running through your veins after dipping in the lake, or let the gentle waves carry your canoe on a warm summer day.

Adventures for friends and families are available all year round at Metsäkartano. Metsäkartano is the perfect place to have an active holiday! Small wonders of nature are present right at the doorstep. Explore Finnish wildlife with snowshoes or try out real off-track skis. Take a kick sled and go for a meditative session of ice-hole fishing. Summer days are perfect for mountain biking, hiking and swimming in the clean lake.
After a good dose of fresh air and outdoor exercise, go and relax in the sauna and enjoy hearty local delicacies. Metsäkartano is located only a 1.5-hour drive from Kuopio airport and is suitable for groups (10–80 persons) and FITs.

Services: Accommodation, restaurant, cafeteria, snack & souvenir shop, equipment rental, guided activities. Accommodation is available in five holiday apartments for families, with sleeping facilities for up to 11 people each (altogether 39 beds). The apartments include 1–3 bedrooms, a sleeping loft (with 4–5 beds and a toilet), kitchen, living room, bathroom/sauna and balcony. Additionally, there are two guesthouses (with altogether 29 wilderness hotel rooms) available.
Winter activities: Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, altai skiing (sliding showshoeing), ice fishing, kick sledding, alpine curling, snow fun.
Summer activities: Mountain biking, hiking, swimming, canoeing, listening to the silence.
Indoor activities: Sports hall, gym, climbing wall, yoga, archery, handicrafts (bone / stone jewellery workshop), water rocket workshop.

How to get there: The nearest railway stations are in Siilinjärvi (about 100 km away) and in Kuopio (about 127 km away). The taxi connection from Siilinjärvi to Metsäkartano takes about 1.5 hours. The nearest airport is about 1 hour 30 minutes away by car and is easy to reach by taxi or pre-ordered flat-rate airport transfers.
